Isn't all laser Vision correction the same?
No. Many discount LASIK centers want
you to believe that LASIK should be purchased like a commodity
and that the surgeon’s experience, availability, local
reputation, lasers, diagnostic technology and follow up
care do not matter. Laser vision correction is
the first step in your medical eye care for the rest of
your life! You should make your decision to have laser
vision correction carefully, not quickly. And,
not because the advertised price seems lower!
We encourage you to sign up for a
free screening at one of our doctor’s practices. The more
you know about our doctors and LaserView, the more confident
you will feel about choosing us. We also encourage you
to attend one of our free educational seminars.
Our surgeons not only have local practices,
they also have excellent long standing community reputations
based on the quality of their care. LaserView surgeons
are involved in every step of your journey through laser
correction surgery, from in-depth discussions during your
consultations to the procedure and post-op care. This
includes a call the night of surgery and easy availability
at any time after surgery. Although LASIK is a very safe
procedure, there are some risks involved with any surgery
and in the event of a complication you will need to be
closely watched by your surgeon.
Years after surgery, treatment of
eye conditions such as glaucoma and cataracts may be influenced
by the outcome of the initial laser procedure, so it is
essential to have a doctor who is familiar with your medical
history.
LaserView surgeons will continue to
serve this area for many years and provide eye care exclusively
in this area. This is not true of the itinerant surgeons
found in discount centers, who live elsewhere and delegate
much of their exam and follow up care to non-physicians.
